Be an upstander on a night out
Everyone should feel safe on a night out and no one should change their behaviour to avoid being a victim. We are encouraging women and girls to report any behaviour that is suspicious or making them uncomfortable. We’re also asking men to be upstanders for women’s safety by challenging bad behaviour. Look out for these signs when on a night out: Loitering without reason Approaching lone or intoxicated women Unwanted or sexualised contact Misogynistic comments Making sexually inappropriate comments or catcalling Stalking or following women who are alone or in groups Filming women without their consent Returning to areas they have previously been instructed by police to leave. If you witness any of these predatory behaviours when you’re out, please report it to the police or security staff.
